During our negotiations in Spring of 2026 a new article was added to the CBA. This new benefit allows new(er) teachers to request ¨extra leave¨ for maternity/paternity leave situations if they have fewer than 30 days of accumulated leave.
This form is for those who would like to donate a day AND for those who would like to request to use sick leave donations for the birth of a child.
If you are willing to donate one of your sick days so that a colleague can use this program, please complete this form. This is different from the sick leave bank and your sick day will not be deducted until it is needed. You will be informed before the deduction occurs.

11.14 MATERNITY OR PATERNITY LEAVE DONATIONS
Employees with three (3) years of teaching experience or less, and who have less than
thirty (30) days of accumulated sick leave shall be eligible for sick leave donations during
the third trimester of pregnancy, or immediately after the birth of a child. In special
circumstances, the WWTA President and Superintendent or designee can mutually agree
to extend the eligibility for sick leave donations.
The total amount to be donated to the employee shall not exceed fifteen (15) days.
Requests for sick leave donations shall be submitted to the WWTA President. The WWTA
President will contact all certified employees asking for a one (1) day donation of sick
leave for an employee on maternity or paternity leave. The employee’s name shall be
kept confidential. The WWTA President will provide Human Resources with a list of
employees who donated.
